What this project is about

I'm looking at emotions and psychological stimuli through dance, and it's getting personal.
This blog is a record of my academic, choreographic, and personal processes pertaining to and surrounding this project.

This work was inspired by psychologists’ collections of multimedia emotional stimuli, and explores the scientific and personal viewpoints of sharing emotion. The value of the stimuli may be caught in data form as they are presented, or may develop as they are re-personified in each viewer/study participant. Similarly we can understand each others' emotions with the limitations but sureness of objective views, or we can participate empathically for a more personal yet subjective understanding. ViewFinder allows the audience to explore these perspectives by giving them a capturing lens of photography, as well as providing for the option to look without it to be part of the fleeting experience itself.
